Moonwatch for you favorite werewolf

April 12th, 2010 admin No comments

Now instead of just glancing at your watch and looking for hands that point at numbers, you can stare at the moon cycle.  This Monwatch is meant to be very deep and thought provoking.  Although truthfully I think it’s probably just created by a Twilight obsessed fan.  Just a theory.  Apparently, it’s meant to establish some sort of a relationship between the moon cycle and a person’s emotional state.  Yes, they really said that. If that doesn’t sound like a Twilight fan, I don’t know what does.  Now should you no longer want to stare at the moon cycle, you can push a handy little button and check the time.  One would think that it would show the time all the time, then you push a button to find out moon cycle, but that’s far too normal.  In order to find out the price on these you’ll have to contact The Emotion Lab . JVC To Introduce Their New GY-HM790 ProHD Camcorder At NAB 2010

April 7th, 2010 admin No comments

By Andrew Liszewski NAB is just around the corner which means it’s time for a mountain of press releases about professional video cameras that don’t sacrifice image quality just so you can stash them in your pocket. Take JVC’s GY-HM790 which is the new flagship of the company’s ProHD camcorder line. While it tops out at capturing video at 1080i, it does have a 720P mode for shooting progressive, as well as a standard-definition 480i mode if for some reason your pipeline has’t embraced HD just yet

Apple 3D video glasses

April 2nd, 2010 admin No comments

Looks like 3D is really big this year, what with the success of Avatar alongside 3D HDTVs and even a 3D portable gaming console from Nintendo being announced, it looks set to be a money spinner for whichever company that throws their weight behind this technology. Apple is up next, having a patent application for a “Head-Mounted Display Apparatus For Retaining a Portable Electronic Device With Display” that was filed way back in August 2008, where they are looking into the possibility of a wearable display which is capable of streaming A/V content from a pocketable device (let’s see now, who would bet against the iPod or iPhone?) sans wires, all the while boasting “stereoscopic imaging”.

Samsung confirms slate PC in the works

March 17th, 2010 admin No comments

Well, the details are extremely thin here folks, but it looks like Samsung’s working on a tablet PC — or ’slate’ if you’re into the new fangled lingo — just like pretty much every other manufacturer on the planet. Speaking with APC (the website, not the clothier), Philip Newton, director of Samsung Australia’s IT division, said that the company is working on a slate PC for the second half of 2010 that will have “PC-grade processing power and connectivity” — two things Newton had previously cited as the main things lacking in the iPad . That’s really all there is to go on — no specs or features mentioned, though Samsung has been vaguely hinting that the tablet, when it appears, will run on Intel’s Atom platform, which sounds about right.

Before the iPad and before the Slate , the most exciting touchy tablety thing in our lives was Toshiba’s JournE multimedia tablet . Now that the Japanese compu-maker has seen what the competition has on offer, it’s proudly proclaimed itself back in the running with an entire family of slate devices it’s planning to introduce near the end of 2010 or in early 2011.

How would you change Palm’s Pre Plus and Pixi Plus?

March 7th, 2010 admin No comments

We aren’t trying to lump these two together or anything, but we figured we’d give those of you who opted for Palm’s second set of webOS handsets an opportunity to pool your thoughts in order to make the smartphone landscape an even better place to survey. We personally didn’t find too much new to laud on Verizon’s Palm-branded twofer compared to the original Pre and Pixi , and those of you who were hoping for all new hardware from the company at CES were undoubtedly let down. Still, there’s something to be said about a webOS product on America’s “largest 3G network,” and frankly, we’re interested in hearing how you’d change things

JooJoo Tablet Shipping Date Delayed to March 25

February 27th, 2010 admin No comments

We published earlier this month that the JooJoo tablet (aka CrunchPad) will be shipping at the end of February. We have just received an email from the manufacturer representative stating that ” due to a manufacturing delay, the company is now forecasting that JooJoo will be sent to consumers on March 25 “. The device equipped with a 12.1″ inch capacitive display has already been available for pre-order for $499, which places it on par with Apple’s cheapest iPad and with fans claiming that the experience is better on the larger display.
