This particular gadget is known as the O Kitchen, a concept device created by a team of Brazilian designers. I suppose it is named the O Kitchen because it can fold up into a large ball. Yet without a hole in the middle, I wouldn’t call it an “O”. I guess they didn’t like the name “Ball Kitchen”. I’m not even going to allude to what that sounds like.
This O Kitchen was designed to be an easily portable and compact kitchen, presumably made for those who don’t have the space for a big kitchen. Of course, this takes up some space too. Find out what all the numbers mean after the jump.
Each of the number corresponds to a different feature on the O Kitchen: 1) Unified microwave and electric oven; 2) Refrigerator; 3) Dishwasher; 4) Cooktop; 5) Smell and steam exhaust; 6) Lighting; 7) Control panel with internet access, MP3 player function, CD/DVD reader, digital cookbook, kitchen management software, built-in sound system; 8 ) Cabinets; 9) Automatic disposal system; 10) High temperature alert display.
I can see another use for the O Kitchen: outdoors. Why bother taking the grill to a tailgate party when you can just roll the O Kitchen in the back of the pickup truck? Of course, you’re probably going to have to bungee it down somehow so it doesn’t roll out on a sudden stop.

When I cook, despite that I’m a pretty decent cook, it still looks like a bomb was dropped in the kitchen. That usually means I’m covered in half the items I’ve measured out for a recipe. When I go to clean off my hands, I’d rather not mess up four pieces of paper towel while I’m trying to grab for only one of those pieces. Thankfully someone has created a way to prevent getting gunk all over the entire roll when you just need one small piece.
Just wave your hand in front of the infrared sensor and it will offer up one piece of your paper towels. It is smart enough to sense the perforations in the sheets of paper towel, so it knows exactly how much it’s spitting out. You can set it to dispense 1, 2 or just a half of a sheet. The Touchless Paper Towel Dispenser comes in red, silver and white. You can purchase it for $79.95 through Hammacher.

Take a look at this dishwasher. It certainly is better looking than any dishwasher that I have seen in any house, as it has a beautiful transparent aesthetic quality about it. Yet there is more to this dishwasher than just its looks. In fact, if the Siemens Zeolith dishwasher was the ugliest in the world, I would still want it.
The Zeolith has a design that allows it to recycle the energy of humidity left over from the wash cycle, and it does it with zeolites. What are zeolites? Special moisture absorbing materials that can release stored up heat, not to mention absorbing moisture from the air inside the machine.
So after they absorb the moisture of the air, the three pounds of zeolites in the Zeolith can release that heat into the wash water, which will result in a faster load cycle. All in all, this saves energy, which is very much needed. Because if there is one thing that dishwashers are good at, and shouldn’t be good at, it is raising power bills.
The Seimens Zeolith is “widely available in Europe”, but I don’t think that there is any place to purchase it in the United States. For some reason, my source does not have a price.

Want your little one to participate in a little money making scheme the legal way this summer? Why not teach the young ‘un on how to go about making a mean cup of lemonade? That’s what the FreshForce Citrus Juicer is all about, as it will make squeezing the juice out of your citrus fruits a snap.
Perfect for lemons, limes and small oranges, the FreshForce utilises a patented inverted stainless steel mechanism to dramatically increase its juicing power, squeezing up to 20% more juice from citrus fruit and reducing unwanted pulp. It’s every cocktail lover’s dream. Ooh, freshly squeezed lime juice! Built to last with chromed, die-cast zinc metal parts and durable nylon handles, the dishwasher safe FreshForce is an ideal gift for anyone who finds squishing citrus fruit a chore.
At £19.99 a pop, it shouldn’t take too long before you make back your money for this, and it sure as heck saves you a whole lot of time and trouble from getting every drop of vitamin C goodness out of all those lemons! You know what they say, when life throws you a lemon, make lemonade out of it!

It isn’t very often that I cover ovens on Coolest Gadgets, but it isn’t every oven that has a 7-inch full-color touchscreen LCD.
This 30 inch Double Wall Oven with V2 Vertical Dual-Fan Convection System by Jenn-Air has an incorporated cooking guide to help those cooking.
This Culinary Center allows the user to select options for adjusting the cooking cycle, and delivers a desired end-result. For example, it has a picture of what medium rare looks like, for the culinary deficient. It can also tell cooks where to stick the a meat thermometer.
When the oven is not cooking, the user can adjust the screens so they are showing something like a floral pattern, or an analog or digital clock.
The touchscreen makes it easy for the iGeneration to cook as the user can adjust temperature by just sliding their finger across the screen. No more of those old school dials or switches. In fact, I can see all ovens of the future adopting Jenn-Air’s model, making switches and buttons a thing of the past.
I don’t see a price of this oven on the Jenn-Air website, but I’m guessing it is slightly out of my range. In all honesty, I don’t even need two ovens. Clearly these Jenn-Air ovens are there for both Julie and Julia.
